Our bedding for infants contains no polymers, no PCBs and no volatile organic compounds. You control the filling, so that the newborn is exposed to nothing that could harm their development in the short or medium term.

A well-regulated cocoon

The mattress’s naturally enveloping feel supports their body as their organs continue to develop. Wool’s heat-regulating properties help provide deeper, more restful sleep.

Part of a recycling logic

When the newborn grows, and they grow fast, the mattress can be reused to make something else. The filling can be recovered to build a new, larger mattress, which makes it both an economical and an ecological solution.

Each baby mattress is filled by hand, one at a time, in our workshops in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, Paris. Here are our starting prices for four reference sizes; any other size or shape is made to measure.

Public prices in euros including VAT, per mattress, for making a new mattress. Ex-workshop prices; delivery charge not included.

These prices are for the base model: a futon finish with an invisible roll edge, 100% wool filling, Bisonne ticking, staggered tufting, no special shape, and a rather firm feel for babies.

The ticking is chosen from the permanent collection.

For any other size, to the centimeter, the width and length are rounded up to the next 10 cm to set the price: from €350 incl. VAT for 30 × 70 cm to €640 incl. VAT for 80 × 150 cm.

A special shape, such as an oval crib mattress, is priced on estimate.

Finally, a full assessment of the price should also consider the possibility of reusing the filling, which has an extraordinarily long life, for a more suitable bed as your child grows.

A made-to-measure baby mattress means giving your child the sleeping conditions to grow up with peace of mind.

Natural mattress

You know what your baby’s mattress is made of.

Your newborn sleeps on a mattress free of chemical products.

For a crib, our mattresses are filled with fine French materials that are natural and recyclable:

Two compositions are possible:

  1. 100% sheep’s wool
  2. 100% plant fiber

The second option was historically designed for a young child learning to be dry at night. A little less expensive, it has the advantage of drying right through more quickly in the event of an accident.

The 100% wool option remains a sound choice, even in that case, above all given its heat-regulating powers, which make sleep noticeably steadier.

Beyond sourcing that respects sustainability, the whole cycle of making, right through to delivery, carries the ecological dimension and the national drive of Made in France.

What about the bed base?

In most cribs and children’s beds, the bed base is reduced to its simplest form: a plain board.

The lead time depends mainly on:

  • orders already confirmed
  • the current workload in our workshops
  • the complexity of the piece to be made
  • the baby mattress’s delivery destination

As we discuss your project before production begins, we will be able to estimate the lead time.

If you have timing constraints, please tell us and we will do our best.

This helps ensure that your precious little one has a cozy place to sleep on time, and that you can plan ahead for the happy event.

How much does a made-to-measure baby mattress cost?

The wool baby mattress costs from €390 in 40 × 80 cm, €460 in 50 × 100 cm, €520 in 60 × 120 cm and €580 in 70 × 140 cm. For another size, to the nearest centimeter, allow from €350 in 30 × 70 cm to €640 in 80 × 150 cm, with dimensions rounded up to the next ten centimeters. Prices include VAT, ex-workshop, excluding delivery.

Can you make a mattress for a crib, a bassinet or an antique bed?

Yes. We make mattresses for bassinets, cribs and antique beds, including the family crib brought down from the attic. Each baby mattress is made one at a time: you choose the size, thickness, shape, fabric and finish. A special shape, such as an oval crib, is priced on estimate.

What size mattress should I choose for a crib?

The baby mattress takes the size of your bed. Measure the inside width and length of the bed or crib: we make the mattress to those dimensions, to the nearest centimeter. Our reference sizes range from 40 × 80 cm to 70 × 140 cm, but any other size is possible.

Is the baby mattress natural, free of foam and chemicals?

Yes. The filling is 100% virgin sheep’s wool or 100% plant fiber, with no foam and no chemical products: no polymers, no PCBs, no volatile organic compounds. Plant fiber, a little less expensive, dries right through more quickly, which helps during toilet training. Wool, which regulates temperature, fills the base model, made rather firm.

Is the baby mattress made in France?

Yes, in Paris. Each baby mattress is filled by hand, one at a time, in our workshops in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. The wool is French. The ticking fabrics are woven in Europe; the Bisonne of the base model, for example, is woven in the Vosges.

What is the lead time and how is the mattress delivered?

Allow 4 to 8 weeks to make a baby mattress; we can adapt this lead time if you have a deadline. We deliver ourselves whenever possible, a carrier takes over for customers farther away, and you can also collect it from the workshop. Delivery is not included in the price.

How much delivery costs
What happens to the mattress when my child grows?

The baby mattress is not thrown away. When the child moves to another bed, the wool or plant-fiber filling can be recovered and reused in a larger mattress. We can also remake the mattress at the workshop with the same material, rather than replace it.

Refurbishment

Like any tufted mattress made the traditional way, the baby mattress is not thrown away: it is remade by reusing its wool and/or plant-fiber filling.

Refurbishing this type of mattress supports a circular economy and makes it more economical over the long term.

Delivery

After carefully making your bedding, we remain with you through to delivery.

We adapt the delivery to its final destination:

  • whenever possible, we like to deliver the mattress ourselves!
  • for customers farther away, we use a carrier.
  • if you prefer, you can also come directly to the workshops to collect your order.
