Our duvets are handcrafted from premium French materials that are natural and environmentally responsible, as well as recyclable.
The main materials used in the duvet are:
- virgin sheep’s wool
- a shell made from pure cotton down-proof percale
This fabric provides
- complete down-proofing: the filling cannot pass through the fabric against your skin
- a silky feel
Comfort comes first.
The components of every Le Briand duvet are manufactured and processed in France.
These are high-quality materials free from industrial chemical or synthetic components, whose integrity is preserved through every stage of processing.
Three filling options are available:
- sheep’s wool
- goose down (available on request through a partner manufacturer)
- duck down (available on request through a partner manufacturer)
The amount and type of filling are adjusted to the comfort you need, creating a made-to-measure duvet.
From responsibly sourcing materials with the sleeper’s well-being in mind through to delivery, the entire handcrafted production cycle has an environmentally responsible approach and is Made in France.

We make natural duvets entirely by hand, drawing on exceptional craftsmanship to deliver the surface feel you need and incomparable softness.
A duvet maker has a duty to guide customers in choosing the right filling weight:
- 500 g/m² for rooms kept at lower temperatures
- 350 g/m² for year-round use and rooms heated in winter
- 220-270 g/m² for climates with milder winters
- 135-150 g/m² for summer duvets
The right filling weight depends on where you live, whether in the mountains or in a humid or dry region, as well as your home’s insulation, how you heat your bedroom and your tolerance for cold.
At Les Ateliers Le Briand, we take the time needed to define the specifications so that we can provide peaceful, restorative nights.
Part of our work is to guide you and share a manufacturer’s experience and knowledge with complete integrity.
Once we are confident that the solution is right for you, we begin making your duvet using processes and techniques unique to our workshop.
