The wool mattress is the only type of mattress that can be refurbished by reusing its own filling.
Refurbishing consists of making your mattress like new again, recovering as much as possible of the wool it contains.
Through the carding stage, the wool is dusted and aired, and so regains all its loft to cradle you softly once again.
To make up for the fatigue the wool has accumulated year after year, it is common to have to add and/or replace a few kilos of “fresh” wool when your bed is refurbished.
A new ticking is used. The mattress made this way has the same functional qualities as the original, thanks to the properties of wool, an extremely strong fiber that lasts over time.

Time between two mattress refurbishments
After 8 to 12 years of daily use, and/or when the bounce of the mattress sags and creates discomfort, it is advisable to redo it.

Steps for restoring a wool mattress
Once the mattress has arrived at the workshop, it is unstitched and the wool is then passed through a carding machine.

Even though the price guides for redoing a wool mattress apply to standard sizes and standard refurbishments, we only work to measure, to meet any type of request.
Time to refurbish a wool mattress
The aim is to minimize the time you are without it.
If you can bring it to us before 8am, a mattress refurbishment (except in very complicated cases) can be carried out in a single day – dropped off in the morning, back the same evening.
Where we handle the logistics and you are near the workshop, a mattress refurbishment (except in very complicated cases) can be carried out in a single day – dropped off in the morning, back the same evening, with the mattress collected between 7am and 8:30am.
In every case, we are well aware of how important your bedding is, so we will do our best to redo your mattress without you having to part with it for too long.
Together, we set a service date (taking into account current orders and activity) so that you do not have to find an alternative sleeping solution while we take care of your bedding.
For a standard 140 cm x 190 cm mattress, for example, this operation can usually be carried out within a single day, subject to an appointment.
If you also want to redo your box spring, it may take longer to restore a mattress and box spring set.

- agree on a date for collection, restoration (depending in particular on the activity of the workshops and the orders in progress) and delivery, so that you do not have to find a temporary sleeping solution
- estimate the price
We use a trusted partner courier who comes to collect your mattress, depending on your address. Then, at the end, that same courier delivers your refurbished mattress.
If the distance is not too great, we may well come along with the courier ourselves.
For renovations in Paris and the neighbouring towns, we usually handle the logistics ourselves.
