Our pillows are handcrafted from fine, natural, eco-friendly materials sourced in France, all of which are recyclable.

Materials

The pillow is made primarily from:

virgin sheep’s wool
a cover made from pure cotton, tightly woven down-proof percale, or bedding ticking

This cover provides:

complete containment: the filling does not work through the fabric that touches your skin
a silky feel

Every component of a Le Briand pillow is made and processed in France.

The wool has not undergone any chemical treatment.

No chemicals. No synthetic components. No additives.

This makes it particularly well suited to people with allergies.

Three filling options are available:

Our wool pillows are filled by hand, one at a time and to measure, so the price depends on your order. Prices start at €80 incl. VAT for 40 × 60 cm, €85 for 50 × 70 cm or 60 × 60 cm, and €95 for 65 × 65 cm. Other sizes and shapes are priced on estimate.

Yes, that is our trade. We adapt the pillow’s size, shape and firmness, as well as the fabric of its cover: pure cotton percale or bedding ticking. Every pillow is filled by hand, one at a time, to suit the way you sleep.

Soft, medium or firm: which firmness should I choose?

There is no right firmness in absolute terms. What matters is the height of the filling relative to your sleeping position: on your side, you need more than on your back or stomach. Before making it, we take the time to define it with you. And if the filling turns out too high or too thin, the cover can be reopened at the workshop to adjust it.

We make sheep wool pillows and, on request, goose or duck down pillows with a partner manufacturer. For the same weight of filling, wool gives more firmness than feathers while staying supple; down remains lighter.

Wool pillow: what are the pros and cons?

Wool wicks moisture away instead of holding it: it is the filling we recommend first to sleepers who sweat. Ours has undergone no chemical treatment. On the other hand, a wool pillow is heavier than a down pillow, and it does not suit anyone who wants a flat, light pillow that can be washed at 60 °C.
