Sleeping on a good bed base preserves it! That is what drives us: the box spring is an essential piece of bedding, often forgotten, **bringing a clever balance to the whole**. This link is what makes **a full and complete experience possible, for optimum sleep with well-being in mind**. ![upholstered bed base](https://img.le-briand.fr/uploads/2022/10/sommier-tapissier-ressort-sommier-monobloc-damasse-gris.jpg) ![traditional upholstered bed base](https://img.le-briand.fr/uploads/2022/10/sommier-tapissier-ressort-sommier-bibloc-jumeaux.jpg) ## Introduction to the Le Briand box spring Imagine a bed base that is *all at once* **natural**, **durable**, **ethical**, **recyclable**, **ecological**, **French** and above all **suited to your preferred sleeping experience**. It’s **the synergy of all these dimensions** that makes our product unique. **Not every bed base gets to be called a box spring**. Discover the genuine box spring, (re)made as close as possible to the rules of the trade. With materials that follow the tradition as it was shaped, with upholstery tools, and with the gestures and techniques of the upholsterer. **No compromise in the pursuit of comfort**… Paired with the [wool mattress](https://le-briand.fr/en/wool-mattress/), the sprung box spring accompanies you in your movements through the night. It brings a suppleness to the whole that takes nothing away from the support we can build into the core of the mattress: you will find yourself softly supported and welcomed by your bedding. In short, the box spring gives you an experience that follows your body with suppleness, while the mattress keeps the support you need. **A box spring is always sprung**. If your bed base uses slats, you cannot enjoy the comfort of a box spring. ## Matchless comfort in 3 variations The singularity of the experience, [told by those who live it](https://le-briand.fr/en/box-spring/reviews/). **3 variations of the box spring** to bring out beauty in harmony with the look of your interior. **It is the visible part of the bedding**. It can even be dressed in a furnishing fabric (what we call parementage). **As comfortable as it is mindful of beauty**. ![upholstered bed base](https://img.le-briand.fr/uploads/2025/10/sommier-tapissier-ressort-bisonne.jpg) Understated style ![sprung box spring](https://img.le-briand.fr/uploads/2025/10/sommier-tapissier-sur-mesure-raye.jpg) Traditional ![made-to-measure box spring for an antique bed](https://img.le-briand.fr/uploads/2025/11/sommier-tapissier.jpg) Full of color ## Manufacturing Shaped **according to the original techniques**, the bed maker’s know-how for **combining comfort and style** has proved itself over time.
